Pros

Red Hat have been the cool kids of the enterprise IT world for many years. With their industry leading tools like RHEL, Ansible and OpenShift they have been well recognised by customers as providing the right foundational technology.

Cons

Post the IBM acquisition, the Red Hat value proposition has been significantly undermined. The IBM Cloud Pak sales play massively undermined the value of the Red Hat subscription model for OpenShift, and the movement of the Red Hat software defined storage platforms to IBM sets the tone for the future bluewashing of Red Hat. IBM has continued to undermine the Red Hat value prop and numerous IBM representatives have approached customers on the basis of "we own Red Hat therefore we can speak on their behalf."
