Pros

Good benefits including non-contributory pension scheme, generous Christmas party and gifts Employees generally very friendly Good pay - time and a half paid for any overtime hours worked Good experience for new graduates

Cons

High reliance on new graduates with a very high turnover rate Negative feedback is the norm and positive feedback is rare, leading to a lack of job satisfaction and low motivation

Pros

Friendly department, although some groups can be cliquey. Good benefits even for the starting graduates. Overtime offered at 1.5 times normal pay (for my department at least) so good for saving up. Company offers Christmas party, shuttle bus service, office fitness sessions at lunchtime.

Cons

Seems to be hardly any chance of advancing within the company. Really high turnover among graduates as work is very repetitive and most people only stay for 9 months- 1 year. Hardly any positive feedback, especially compared to the amount of negative feedback. Difficult to find somewhere to live or park in the area - very expensive in terms of cost of living.

Pros

If you value a strong company ethos and stability, there are many worse places. There's good communication across the departments and I ended up playing football regularly with colleagues across the company, and two years after leaving I still do. The people are for the most part sound young graduates so the atmosphere is welcoming and very friendly. Providing you're not averse to admin, the role is stimulating as you are dealing directly with clients but mainly in a back office function (logging translation orders, managing several translation projects simultaneously, day to day communication with freelance translators). Occasionally quite exciting as well.

Cons

Linear company structure, too little imagination in developing employees range of tasks and opportunities for development.
