Pros

Great people. Strong brand. Excellent benefits. If you are part of ASOC, you'll have great exposure. If you are not part of ASOC, you can truly control your own destiny and do great things without too much meddling. They genuinely want to do the right thing.

Cons

Despite what Amit wants to do... the company culture is slow to change. Progress is slow because of two reasons. #1 - there are a lot of people that don't really want to change. They are comfortable and change is hard. #2 - people are afraid to make a mistake. Amit's team has great ideas but often they are rolled out to the masses at the 30K foot level. While the goal is to provide transparency and help the team know where they are going, it actually causes things to slow down because people are waiting to be told what to do. That all said, the only thing that could prevent them from doing amazing things is if Amit gets tired of big company politics or Dell doesn't allow the freedom to operate against the plan for short-term pain with long-term gain.

Pros

Casual dress code and relatively loose business hours only 10am-3pm being mandatory. Game room in building. Room to move up the corporate ladder quickly. They give you time to work on your career with many training offerings. 1 month paternity leave available. Your opportunity is what you make of it.

Cons

Annual layoffs just about every year. Code quality takes a back seat to release dates. Nothing is done to acquire new young talent - engineering talent is out of date & below average. Too many remote employees. Feels "corporate". Vacation time is stingy.
