Pros

I have no pros about this company because you slowly learn and see how people are brainwashed.

Cons

Their Resto Rules, if you don't agree with all of them or have a different point of view, then this is not the company for you. You must know the mission statement by heart and be ready to recite it in a group session if called upon. To this day, it is still ingrained in my mind. That being said, mission statement goes - "To create an endless reflection of hope, inspiration, passion and love to ignite the human spirit and change the world." Pay is not great either and not worth the extra work and sweat you put in day in and out.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. A lot of nice people.

Cons

Cult-like culture, the emperor wears no clothes syndrome, unable to take vacation days, 100% travel with no additional consideration. Leadership has no leadership skills, no willing to accept criticism, unreasonable schedule. Wasteful spending on whims of upper management, obscene pay differential. Doesn’t live up to mission, vision & values statements.

Pros

Interesting coworkers. Beautiful work space.

Cons

If you are reading this, you may be tempted to work at RH. You will read the reviews and scoff, thinking they are the bitter ravings of disgruntled employees. Dear Reader, they are not. It truly is a cult that will try to break down your spirit and remake you into a Stepford Associate. You can do better. They will tell you that they want people with a Point of View. If you give them a point of view at odds with what Gary Freidman has told them to believe, you will find yourself in their office with them inches from your face telling you that you don't exhibit the RH "Values". They will manipulate you and make you feel that you should be grateful for washing the toilets or vacuuming their office. The main manager is the head of the cult. She is vindictive and the main cult facilitator. Watch her face when she talks about Gary Freidman. It's scary. When you have to all start clapping in unison at the Values Meetings, you will know. The actual job would be fine if you weren't watched, hounded and grilled by management. They present themselves as being all about design, but really it's all about what you sold that day. The hypocrisy will wear you down. The comments about your clothes or makeup will make you feel either bad or angry. When they insult the people who wisely move on, as "low energy" or "they just aren't the right people", you will realize that they are going to say the same about you when you leave. You are a mere cog in the machine. You aren't a person to them at all. Is this the kind of place that you want to spend 9 hours a day at?
