Pros

The people are wonderful. You get to meet super cool, interesting people. Has a fun environment that is great for team building.

Cons

The hours suck. You have to work nights and weekends. They usually are understaffed so leaves a lot of people working Saturday and Sunday.

Pros

RH has such a cult following! This company is fortunate that the products sell themselves because there is such a lack of consistency in their sales training for the products. There are some very cool people who work here right along with the "not so desirables"....afterall, it is a RETAIL JOB. The work/life balance at my store was pretty lame. The leaders acted like it was some big career move and the minions (20-something flunkies) acted like they were there for social hour. Some people were there because they had been told of leadership possibilities - for which they will never be considered. Others were there because it was the only place in town that would give them a job...that they could come and go as they pleased and be high or drunk on the job. For me, this was just a way to collect some cash, pass some time and gain material for my memoir. Each person I worked with had a story and some where better than others but I loved hearing them. As a leader, it is good to know who is working with you. Unfortunately,I found out that the store leader I worked with is a clueless pothead. But then I will say it again...it is RETAIL.

Cons

Well, for starters, the company culture is heavily dependent on hiding behind their "rah rah" mantras and brainwashing about "the right people" and "do the right thing". They don't hire people who can make a decision and who flip flop on their direction. Given that the CEO is completely crazy and over-the-top disorganized in his planning, the trickle down to the field is just a Hari Kari mess. Marketing and Merchandising need to get their act together and really crunch some numbers. There is a real reason why their stock is suffering and the company is struggling.

Pros

Beautiful campus and offices to work in with free coffee and RH furniture. Product sold is high quality and innovative. Salary is a little low but still competitive. Free Parking.

Cons

There is ZERO work/life balance. This is a dysfunctional company that is out of control and very top heavy. Leadership is disconnected and constantly sets unrealistic expectations. There is little to no investment being put into technology and systems which would alleviate several of the problems being seen. There is no training once hired and day 2 you are already in the thick of things with little support. Management leads through intimidation and scare tactics...expect to be thrown under the bus. No 401k Match. Stay far away from this company if you value career growth, want any type of work/life balance, and if you you want to be valued/respected while putting in the hard work.
