Pros

Competitive pay. Beautiful product with a "luxury" facade.

Cons

Insane expectations with zero process or infrastructure. HR will try to sell you that RH is like a "startup". In my experience, RH has only the cons of a startup with the cons of a corporate retailer. No real strategy, and no real leadership. I do not believe there is any opportunity to grow your career here do to constant firedrills and changing expectations.

Smoke and Mirrors

Pros

Very smart and hardworking people who become your family.

Cons

The quest for perfection in everything is beyond unrealistic. Expectations are unreasonable and demands are grueling. Forget about promotions as your skills and talents are not important but more so your good genes and your ability to bs your way through to upper management. Everything about this company is smoke and mirrors....it's no wonder the stock price has fallen as rapidly as it has.

Pros

Innovative company, smart, amazing and caring people, creativity is abound and there is encouragement to share ideas, no matter what your position. The HR team is improving and really working to create a positive and engaging environment. Gary Friedman is brilliantly creative, smart and can be very inspiring (see also cons below).

Cons

Work-life balance is quite challenging in some, but not all departments, it just depends where you are. (Maybe) expect to be connected 24/7 - the workload and "culture" can be all-consuming. An excessive amount of meetings makes it difficult to get the actual work done. People are always late to meetings because they're running from their last one. Very unproductive. Gary Friedman is brilliantly creative, smart and can be very inspiring but this can come at a price: arrogance and unrealistic expectations which can result in a culture that pushes people and teams to unhealthy limits.
