You know that meme where the guy says "Everything is fine" as the room is burning down around him? That's RH. Just go to one of the galleries and bask in the fake, vapid, Stepford Wives atmosphere. I've never worked for a company that is so disorganized and wasteful. "Leadership" is a complete joke and is comprised of people who started working for the company when they were young and impressionable and were successfully indoctrinated into the phony culture the company tries so hard to promote. The other reviews here are accurate - this place has a scary cult mentality. They say they want smart, creative people with a point of view, but what they really want are followers. If you have a modicum of self-respect and half a brain, you will immediately recognize this company is toxic. All of my fellow delivery ambassadors were miserable and confused as to why a multi-billion dollar company is making the same mistakes as a start-up. We kept expecting things to get better, but after awhile, it back painfully obvious that we had all been duped. With RH, it's only important to fall in line and worship leadership. You don't have to be competent or have any real skills. They seduce you with a good salary and make you feel like your role has some sort of prestige, but really, you're just constantly putting out fires and cleaning up messes from further up the sewer pipe. Everyone passes the buck, but with the delivery ambassador role, the buck stops with us. Anyone problems ultimately become your responsibility to solve, and you have zero support from the people you are supposed to rely on. It gets old apologizing to customers as you explain why their delivery time window is off by 5 hours, or why their $7k marble table has shown up damaged 3 times in a row yet no one thought to inspect it at the warehouse after the first failed delivery attempt. There is zero accountability or oversight anywhere and no support from the people who are supposed to know more than you. The slobs who work at the warehouse will add and remove stops on your route and not communicate a word about it to you. In a normal company, you would be fired for being so shockingly bad at your job, but at RH, it's entirely possible to fail upward. People continue to make the same mistakes over, and over, and over again and nothing changes. People with almost no experience or even basic common sense are promoted. You'll have pointless meetings (we had 3 per week!) where your leaders talk about the company values and how important they are, and then you go back to your job and none of those values are played out in the slightest. They use a bunch of fancy, meaningless, doublespeak language that paints everything as a positive. Failures are called opportunities. They'll tell you how great you are and try to make you feel special, but just like the furniture, it's a thin veneer over pure garbage. The only thing RH is good at is convincing the world that it's good. RH caters to a very small portion of the population, specifically wealthy people with no taste whose main goal is to be just like their other wealthy friends. What kind of philistine buys artwork that anyone else can buy? There's nothing original about that. The furniture is mass produced junk from Malaysia, China, Romania, etc. You can find similar pieces on Wayfair for a fraction of the price. This is not some sort of smear by a former employee; the furniture is literal crap. The CEO thinks he is some sort of Steve Jobs level genius influencer, but really, he's just some old dude who is trying so hard to convince everyone he's still hip and relevant. The leather vests, bracelets, and high top sneakers just make it more obvious. His fake tan and comb over are rivaled only by Donald Trump. No one is going to remember him or RH in 100 years. I would not be surprised if this company went bankrupt within the next decade. Many people were recently laid off due to the current economy, but you have to wonder how much of this was caused by poor decision making from the legions of below average sycophants they employ. Instead of fixing their problems, they just throw money at everything and cross their fingers. Do yourself a favor and don't be lured in by the salary and all their BS. The reason they pay you an attractive salary is because this job will become your life and they will exploit you in any way possible. They hire you knowing that you will work far more than 40 hours per week but you're supposed to feel lucky to be working for such a great company. If you have low self-esteem and need constant validation, well, maybe you'll fit in. The "World of RH" is simply an illusion and this company has so many problems it's hard to comprehend.
