Pros

The colleagues I have worked with have become close friends and friendly and supportive.

Cons

The management is terrible. It's all about the business. Individuals mean nothing to this company. They make it look like they very supportive but they are the worse company I have worked for.

Pros

Free on-site parking. On-site Security! For us in our office at Walsall... Tony is the heart and soul of keeping us safe. He's always there with a friendly smile and advice when we're a bit full on parking! On-Site Canteen - Maggie’s Magic Coffee! 4 months home working and 7 coffee machines and none of them match that latte she makes with love! Current technology and upcoming technology! Annualised hours based rota, this means some weeks you’re in for 3 days and off for 4! Response to COVID-19 was brilliant and how the business is now looking at flexible working as a result and how this can be used to improve the work-life balance. Commitment to a safe working environment when visiting the office under COVID-19 regulations is amazing. The facilities team clearly have worked hard to ensure the best standards, not only have they created a compulsory 1 way system they've also created a socially distanced canteen which is vigorously monitored and cleaned! Our senior leadership team throughout the entire business... I can honestly say they are all one of us and never walk around like they are above us, our CEO often wears his RAC top and jeans, it took me 2 months to realise the lady I’d been talking with in the smoking shelter was my bosses bosses boss. I might sound like a bit of a corporate-noser but I'll be honest I'm very much not... I'm the first to say "Erm No..." Kick up a fuss and leave if it doesn't change... I've been there and worked hard for companies who don't even acknowledge a 17 hour shift... Here at RAC I'll work 12 minutes over and It's acknowledged and appreciated from all levels... that's what makes me stay. If you're not willing to adapt to change and you're not happy to occasionally put the extra in, then you might not enjoy our workplace. However, if you're happy to be part of a continuously improving workplace... RAC is is the place for you!

Cons

Current one way system is a bit of a task! But it gets the steps in. Goodbye Rona-Belly! Gluten free food in the canteen is a bit limited! But still nice! Free coffee machine is not gluten free! Only 1 smoking shelter. Could do with a second for our second part of the building! (Although facilities improvements last year make our current shelter very nice!.) Our Air-Con/MVHR unit can be a bit random at times. When at full capacity parking can be a bit of a nightmare!

Pros

22k starting salary is good and the commission is easy to hit.,

Cons

The worlds highest turnover in staff. They hire every and anyone regardless of your back ground mainly due to the fact they are desperate for staff. Office is dirty and tables are full of dust as though they haven't cleaned the office since they first open 125 years ago. Just the other day we had an email about biscuit bugs and the office needing to be fumigated. The managers are rude and dismissive my first time in the starter grid was met with hostility from staff and managements over a chair. I had never experienced that level of unprofessionalism in any other jobs. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing, the company tries to rip members off by inviting horrendous quotes. The average wait time for a member is at least 4 hours and on some occasions the RAC doesn't even turn up to recover members. The shift work is terrible you will be shifted in for a 10-7 and find your self doing a 8-5 the very next day making sleep patterns hard to adjust. There is no progression in this role managers come and go as do staff. DESK HOPING IS A JOKE. Give the staff there own seats so when they come to work they don't have to sit at a filthy desk with a computer that takes 10 years to log on...
