Nepotism and Morale Issues at QAD

Pros

remote work offered to most employees

Cons

I recently worked at QAD, and my experience was far from what I expected from a reputable company. While QAD offers competitive compensation and some talented employees, the overwhelming nepotism within the organization casts a dark shadow over the workplace environment and seriously undermines morale. One of the most frustrating aspects of QAD is the blatant favoritism that exists for employees who are related to certain key individuals within the company. There seems to be an entire family working at QAD, with the family matriarch bringing in significant revenue for the company. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a situation where the rules and policies that apply to the rest of us are seemingly bent or ignored when it comes to this family. This nepotism problem not only erodes trust and fairness within the organization but also makes it clear that there is a distinct lack of accountability for some employees. For those of us who are not part of the favored family, it's incredibly demoralizing to see others getting away with questionable behaviors or poor performance without facing consequences. In a professional environment, it's essential that all employees are held to the same standards, and no one should be above the rules. The nepotism at QAD seriously compromises this fundamental principle, making it difficult to maintain a positive and productive workplace. It's disheartening to witness how such an issue can undermine team morale, discourage hard work, and breed a sense of unfairness among the staff. While QAD has some positive aspects, the rampant nepotism within the company seriously hampers its potential as a desirable place to work. If you value fairness, accountability, and a positive work environment, you may want to think twice before considering a career at QAD. The company must address these issues to create a more equitable and harmonious workplace for all its employees.

I am very sorry to hear this was your experience. I have shared your comments with our HR Team as I know we would not want this to be the experience for any employee at QAD. We work very hard to create a positive and productive workplace. We start with recruitment conducting extensive search and outreach campaigns - including reaching out to our employee base for applications and referrals to find the best candidates for the job. We have worked to build a culture of inclusion, equity and collaboration at QAD. Thank you for your comments and we wish you well in your next career endeavor.

Pros

It was a genuinely great company to work for prior to 2025. Excellent experience working here during the transition stage from On-Premise to Cloud under the previous leadership (Anton). The core QAD ERP is a complex, valuable software that was making solid progress toward a SaaS model before the recent shifts.

Cons

Drastic Culture Shift: The workplace became instantly toxic when the new CEO (Sanjay) took over. His first all-hands call explicitly stated the company was doing poorly, setting a deeply demotivating tone. Subsequent calls have been filled with mean-spirited treatment toward employees. Mass Layoffs & Outsourcing: The company let go of highly experienced resources—the backbone of QAD—in the AMER and EMEA regions. They completely outsourced critical Cloud Operations (which maintains the core infrastructure) to a vendor in India that has zero knowledge of QAD. Severe Micromanagement: Because the new outsourced team lacks domain knowledge, there is intense micromanagement, and leaders are now expected to be available 24/7 to compensate. Misguided Strategy: The new leadership immediately scrapped ongoing developments to focus entirely on customer support. There is no job security left in the AMER and EMEA regions. Misleading PR: Don't believe the social media hype or paid articles. The heavily boasted AI integration is actually a tool developed by Redzone, and despite a "great launch" in November 2025, nothing has actually gone live yet.

Thank you for your ten-plus years of service and for your significant contributions to our Cloud transition. It is disheartening to hear that your experience changed so drastically, as we take your concerns regarding culture and leadership very seriously. We are currently navigating a period of significant evolution, and while these transitions are difficult, we value the expertise that built this company. We appreciate your candid feedback and wish you nothing but the best in your future professional endeavors.
