Pros

Training was decent although for our cohort however no direction of what we could be doing

Cons

Graduate job is NOT guaranteed! Even after training (12 weeks unpaid although free accommodation which is a good standard) job is not guaranteed. If they can't find anything for you they will say you are not good enough and let you go. Pay is considerably below par for this industry and there are few benefits. Some clients work you considerably overtime (although this is not with everyone) and will send you back just like that if you complain and will most likely will be let go after that.

It was hard to read your review. The strength of negative feeling within it is clear to see and I do not want anyone else experiencing the issues you have faced. It has led to me launching an internal investigation to understand what has gone so wrong. The comments in your review about there being a lack of opportunities for our graduates are very concerning because it is not reflective of the reality of the situation. So the fact this is what trainees are hearing is worrying. My internal investigation has led to changes around the way we manage graduate communications so that graduates are always kept in the loop on what is happening with their deployments. Feeling undervalued and overworked at certain client sites is not something we want for our new starters and this is an issue I am keen to understand more about so I can pinpoint the client sites where this is an issue. Having recently spent some time with a number of graduates at a client site I know this not to be a case across the board so it is important we identify the problem areas and address it quickly. I would really appreciate it if you could get in touch with me directly about this on stuart.martin@qa.com. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this.

Pros

Something that stands out above the rest is the friendliness of the company. As someone who is just starting work life, it can seem daunting. But from every level of the business, everyone has been welcoming and actually seem to enjoy the work they do. This makes working life more enjoyable and has its social benefits. For the job, in communications, you have access to the adobe creative suite, laptop and a very knowledgably IT team. My role so far has been very varied with my tasks evolving on a weekly basis so it is hard work, but rewarding – especially seeing the goal in the end is to promote education. Only being close to 2 months in, it is a great place for a graduate to learn from very experienced professionals and with a lot of variety in my role of marketing, I’m learning a lot and quickly. I am even getting actual responsibility as a new starter which is always greatly appreciated.

Cons

The different divisions of the company is confusing at the start with four different ones. Once you put faces to names it becomes clearer, but definitely a challenge at first. There is also a bit of a lack of communication between the various divisions, with it feeling like at times, four separate businesses. I know this is an ongoing improvement but was noticeable at the start. As well, the lunch space is very small meaning more people eat lunch at their desks or out, making it a bit expensive for London.
