Run, save yourself.

Pros

Its near the train station.

Cons

QA is a company who wants its pound of flesh. There is a big call centre mentality and your call minutes are monitored and timed (2 hours of actual speaking time is the aim of the day.) If you’re ill during probation then it will be docked from your wages. The Brighton office is like a morgue, the atmosphere is stifling. Leading by example is not the management style here. My manager constantly harassed staff while not making any sales calls or bringing in any business himself, and preferred to spend his time playing pool. At least 6 members of staff were sacked during my short spell of employment. A ruthless, vacuous company with a complicated commission structure which always rings alarm bells. Save yourself and aim higher. Good luck.

Huge potential, but overall very disappointing

Pros

None of note that I can think of

Cons

There’s no doubting QA’s potential in the education sector. However it’s downfall is always going to be the culture. There are a few very admirable and talented employees within the firm, but they stand out because sadly they’re in the minority. Very soon after starting, even though you expect it to be a little “rough around the edges” due to size and fast expansion, you very quickly learn that there are huge issues with culture, professionalism and the overall concept of “doing the right thing”. During my time here (coming up to 6 months) I have witnessed behaviour which is shocking for any business to exist on in 2017. It feels incredibly backward (good luck if you’re looking for slick processes, effective people management or development opportunities outside of ‘who likes who’) and I regularly see management clashing due to personalities (rather than anything to do with work), very openly and unprofessionally, which makes for a very uncomfortable and unusual experience. There is no doubt that the majority of the board, and particularly the CEO have ambition and a vision which is convincing – however by them not addressing the people issues here this business will only continue to have high turnover and a long lasting negative reputation in the market. As some mention below, I’d also question the overly positive reviews here. Some directly responding to others, which sounds like QA Management to me.

A great opportunity for graduates

Pros

I've been working for QA Consulting for the past two years and it has been a great experience. Coming in as a university graduate, I had no experience in the IT sector, and no real applicable job skills, and QAC still believed they could shape me into somebody worth hiring. QA Consulting gave me a chance to get somewhere in my career. While the training was not the best in the world, and the communication between managers and employees hasn't always been great, working here has given me experience, IT skills, and the chance to work with other amazing companies, one of which I will be joining soon on a very spicy salary. All of this wouldn't have been possible without QAC.

Cons

As already mentioned, communication between managers and employees was a bit vague. Also, the training was not the best while I was trained two years ago.
