Avoid Until Leadership Gets It's Act Together

Pros

Potential is promising. Tough 2 years in start-up, disconnected leadership with a struggling identity, employee engagement at an all-time result, and parent involvement increasing to drive cost improvements at the worst time.....

Cons

Poor undefined culture, all talk and no action from leadership, false promises, disappearing bonus, poor benefit structure that placed rising cost on employees

EA was subpar and management was highly unprofessional

Pros

I met some nice people while I was there. Made good connections and still speak to a few here and there.

Cons

Direct manager was unprofessional and rather trashy. She regularly had fights with other employees. Was told by a colleague that she was voted "most likely to get into a bar fight" in college (eye roll). She treated me and others poorly and made herself feel better by saying she was very "blunt." I'll say. It was just her nature. Not to mention she regularly wore low-cut shirts and and no one wanted to see that. She's a manager but should not have been...other offenses included yelling, talking trash about other employees, and audibly whispering with another catty employee. For whatever reason, the company felt she should be in her position and supported her. That was a pretty clear indication to me that the company was not up to par quality-wise and I'm glad not to be there. A few of the executives were absolute jerks as well. One in particular liked to trash talk people and generally swagger around and act intimidating. I believe they let him go at some point, or so I heard. CEO was nice enough but did not seem completely sincere for some reason I can't put my finger on. . . I recently spoke with another former employee who said he had PTSD from the place. I never felt comfortable there, it felt like a cliquish middle school. I really thought I had blinked and gone back to the seventh grade.

Senior Management are useless

Pros

- people that you work with in your team are great - I am in the 1 team that actually seems to have a good line manager, unfortunately their hands are tied due to crap upper/senior management - I have been here a number of years and have been promoted and had the ability to get involved in things that I enjoy

Cons

- senior management only care about covering their own backs - senior management do not listen to their employees - senior management are only interested in self promotion, no other region is promoted as quickly as EDI senior management and yet other regions are no where near as poisoness. It's not about who does the job best but about who at the top likes you - majorly over worked and under paid
