      If you stick with them for a while, then you can fairly easily make a career out of Publix.

      Pros

      Benefits you recieve are a big plus, but usually takes a year to be able to start recieving them. They give you pretty good training and are very clear on what you should do and what you should not do. On your break you can eat Publix subs, which are amazing!

      Cons

      Very low stating pay, hours given out are often unfair and it is very hard to take time off, and even if you are very sick they still want you to come in. If you are not on the managers good side then you often have to work the hours no one else wants to work.

      Pros

      Publix offers a great place to start working. I was employed with this company as my first job back when I was still in school and it was a relatively low stress job with a decent paycheck. One of the best aspects of this company was the fact that management was more than willing to listen to employees and work around schedules. As long as you gave whoever you reported to notice of your needing time off in a decent amount of time, you would be guaranteed to have that time off on your schedule. Additionally, upper management was very friendly and surprisingly knew many of the employees by first and last name, even if they weren't one they directly supervised.

      Cons

      This was not a job one would want to make a career out of . It was a decent part time job, but someone working full time would likely quickly get tired and look for other work opportunities.

      Pros

      If your upbeat and pretty, you will move up in Publix fast. I've gotten the highest raises and I'm one of the youngest employees. It can be very challanging and rewarding to work for publix.

      Cons

      Some of the customers are rude and obnoxious. You have to push to sell money for charities and it's really a hassle and makes me uncomfortable. It can be so busy, and easy to give people extra or too little change and when your short they do not put up with it. Many of the men at publix are creeps. I've had to go to my managers multiple times to have them take care of situations that I haven't been comfortable in.
