Pros

Driven by a mission, Providence does its best to help every patient regardless of their circumstances. Most of the clinicians care about others and treat patients well.

Cons

Management has shifted its focus from the "non profit service attitude" when run by the Sisters of Providence, a Catholic order of women. Now run by MBA's and Corporate Executives who are compensated very well while admin continues to squeeze employees to do more with less. Thankfully, nurses have our union and increasingly other disiplines are organizing and joining the ONA (Oregon Nurses Association). We recently had a 5 day strike and administrators are still slow to return to the table with meaningful compromises. Have been working w/o a contract since the beginning of 2023.

Pros

Honestly just the night shift peeps I work with are amazing. However, most are leaving.

Cons

Long hours. Poor management. Low pay compared to every other hospital. Doctors are rude. Always run out of supplied. Constant harassment from management about petty things. No resources to help nurses. Understaffed in almost every department. Blatantly in a staff meeting have said they do not care to give good raises to staff. Some staff only get a cent raise which is down right disrespectful. Absolutely avoid this hospital.
