Pros

It's a fairly flexible company.

Cons

The leadership doesn't seem to care what happens at any of its facilities, as long as your within their guidelines. Stray from that, and they're all over you. There is a nasty side to management that is unseemly.

Pros

Good place to work. Staffed well, a big plus. Minimum contract staff. Pay equal to other catholic hospitals. Good orientation, and continuing ed, not rushed.

Cons

Pay not as much as University hospitals. Float or pulled to other floors when census is low. Pulled to units not always compatible with where your working.

Pros

It's Mission and the fact that the organization appears to try to embody it.

Cons

It's a large organization and from time to time everyone feels like their corner of it is neglected. Supporting the cost of the bureaucratic infrastructure with revenues from providing services is a challenge - sometimes one wonders if centralized leadership staff know that the real mission is out in service areas - providing care. And not all centralized functions are value added.
