Disconnect between Senior Management and Line Employees

Pros

Providence pays well at the System Office but there is definitely a price to pay for this in that your personal life will take a back seat to getting the job done - at least for people on the front line of service.

Cons

Middle management does not understand the time needed to complete the job. People on the front line end up working overtime (sometimes without reporting it) in order to complete their work.

Pros

Large Health system allows for job growth. Education programs. Most Managers are trained to be supportive. Good pay, and Benefits. Very competitive pay. Bereavement time off, maternity leave, etc. Great Charity work!

Cons

Some Managers lacking leadership abilities. As with any large organization, sometimes things take time to implement, sometimes too long. Mostly though Providence works well.

Pros

Good place if you enjoy autonomy and you are self-driven. Management does not micro-manage but expects you to be independent and start initiatives. I enjoyed working with the majority of the departments and supporting them with their IT needs. The cafeteria food is not bad but can be a little expensive. Good PTO and salary.

Cons

The only downside here, I question some of leadership management and senior executive team. The traffic in the area is a little crazy during rush hour.
