Pros

Sacred Heart is one of the most stable employers in the region. There were some layoffs a few years ago, but things have really turned around and they are hiring for more new positions again. They offer good pay and solid benefits, and being such a large workplace, there is plenty of opportunity for development and advancement.

Cons

There seems to be a tolerance for mediocre and low performance, from front-line staff to middle and upper management as well. This includes physicians as well. There is a lot of pressure to be fast, with not as much effort towards quality. Mistakes and errors are covered up and forgotten, instead of dealing with them openly and transparently.

Pros

Great people to work with. Good work ethic apparent in most staff. Excellent benefits. Hourly pay. Company values are excellent. Lots of room for professional development. Opportunities for education and classes in house. I am new so there are some things that I don't know yet. Faith based, Mission-driven organization. In comparison to other companies, this one appears to have a better work life balance by a long shot.

Cons

Time off requests have to be processed 6 months ahead of time. But the management is working with me for achieving time off that I need. One employee mentioned that the management didn't take employee input seriously, but I don't really sense that yet because we had a meeting where staff were asked specifically for their input.
