Great organization, terrible management, a waste of time to work there, decent pay for a non-profit, though.
Pros
The name recognition is valuable. The mission is great. The pay is decent for a non-profit (though they are cheap about health plans and vacation days). When you can get something done, it is very satisfying.
Cons
The management is truly awful. They have been trying to clean out the poor managers and train up new managers, but they replaced the old managers with dreadful ones. I don't actually know that the old managers were bad, but that is what we have been told about why they were cleaned out. I can tell you that the new managers are so terrible that it makes me wonder if there had been any improvement. The environment on my team is overtly hostile at times. People encroach on each others' job functions, take credit for your work, etc. On my team of 9, 8 people are looking for new jobs (7 of whom have been there for less than one year).
