No future for professional in Petrobras America Inc

Culture is different, nobody is accountable, so it is o.k. you can watch internet all day and no body bother you as long as you don't rock the boat. There are Managers without College Degree.

Cons

Most of the time there is not enough work to do for 2 hours a day. It is very boring . A lot of people in each department, every day, they complained they have a lot work and then disappeared and take very long lunch( 3 hours) and smoking breaks. The Managers are too busy playing politics with Brazil and do not have time to worry about your career or advancement.

Lazy, you can mess up big and do not have to worry ,getting fire. Only promotion for Brazilian.

Cons

No promotion if you are not Brazilian or a relative of the expatriate. Cannot suggest good idea to help the company , you will be punished. Cannot work hard , you will make the Brazilian look bad because they are busy watching soccer games and complained they have too much work

_ Too much political influence. Federal government interferes a lot in strategical decisions compromising efficiency. _ Not much room for initiative. Excessive control of decision making and processes. _ Excessive large organizational structure. Unnecessary managerial positions affect agility. _ Board and managerial positions are political nominations dependent on whatever political party is in charge. Usually executives don't have any background in the oil and energy industry.
