Probably does not apply to all locations
Pros
They're pretty flexible with hours. But unless you're really passionate about cars, there are little to no pros...
Cons
I have no clue how things work at other Pep Boys, but to begin, they provide little to no training. Okay, yes they train for a whole week, but all they do is sit you down in front of a computer all day long to watch slides about car parts. Then they put me on the register on my own after watching another employee for just an hour. I was expected to know what to do that day onward. There was an employee there who was extremely helpful and if it weren't for her I probably would have never learned because they only had one sales associate for every shift. Are you kidding me?! How could I learn anything effectively when I had to cash out a long line of 20 angry customers? Managers didn't like it much when you bothered them either. They would look at you as if you were stupid. In addition to that they were extremely unprofessional. They would talk a whole bunch of smack behind the worker's back...to other workers, instead of handling their business!! Anyway, they were generally nice people, but their management sucked so bad and I understand that half of the time managers would be frustrated and not much help because upper management didn't want to pay for more employees!!! Not their fault I guess, but they really need to get their stuff together.
