The closeness to upper management matters more than work Promotions and oppurtunities are based on who you know and how your boss is placed in the group rather than work Multiple reorgs with no result Lay offs not based on work but on several other factors in nae of streamlining the organization

- Has become increasingly political, with poorly-qualified individuals making resourcing decisions seemingly based on favoritism, not to mention the recent layoffs

Pros

This is not the same PayPal of 10 years ago. It's hungry, razor sharply focused and attacking a much bigger market than the massive one it already dominates.

Cons

PayPal had a lull in the early '00s, and it's spent the last couple years working out of that. Some of those habits are tough to eradicate.
