Pros

The team, and only the team, was great.

Cons

Working at Paramount has been a challenging experience. The atmosphere is toxic, and it often feels like no one values your loyalty or the effort you put into your work. Despite consistently delivering strong performance, there’s little recognition or support from management. The constant threat of layoffs creates an environment where you never feel secure. It’s disheartening to know that your job could be at risk at any moment. Additionally, the workload is overwhelming—it's common to find yourself handling the responsibilities of two or three people without any acknowledgment or adjustment in compensation. Unfortunately, discussions about salary reviews are almost non-existent, even for those who excel in their roles. Overall, I do not feel comfortable or safe here, and I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a supportive and stable work environment.

Pros

There's exposure to great opportunities and lots of strong experience to be gained from this company. There are some extremely talented people to learn from. There are great extras and genuinely helpful benefits offered to the employee if you take advantage of them!

Cons

The leadership is an exclusive group that requires effort and adornment to be genuinely respected by them. That relationship will inform much of what you are allowed to be exposed to and what job experiences you can grow your resume from, therefore often fostering a pretty toxic environment. There seems to be more of a personal goal around how things are run, as opposed to a purely business one. Not being part of the right "group" can make it difficult to have the ability to do the necessary parts of your job thoroughly. There are too many people at the top and not enough on the ground doing the hard work therefore work hours can be long. There is a lot of additional work required just to keep the leadership informed, on top of the jobs assigned that must be done, so it can feel tedious and unbalanced at times. They offer time off, which is wonderful, but don't set you up to take that time so burnout is common.

Pros

- Fully remote policy - 6% match on 401K

Cons

- Developers are subpar - Most low level "managers" are totally inexperienced and way below average technically speaking - Disproportionate ratio of beginner developers to more senior knowledgeable ones - Talented SWE's get overworked
