Pros

Amazing work/life balance. You will not work past 5pm unless you choose to do so. Good health insurance Flexible work schedules Telecommuting options (some people are full-time telecommuters) Nice people for the most part Food Truck Fridays Monthly happy hour Monthly bring your dog to work day (Canine Friday) Bring in good speakers on a monthly basis Free yoga and pilates classes twice a week

Cons

Inefficient, hard to get things done Lack of clarity on roles and responsibilities leads to different departments stepping on toes Experience varies tremendously depending on which sites you work on Tons of people have been there 20+ years and aren't innovative Comp is just OK. I was underpaid by $20-40k for my title and number of years experience according to several pay sites like payscale, glassdoor, etc. Too many different work management tools that vary by group No training. New people genuinely have no idea how to do their jobs and the more junior salespeople especially are lost and afraid Several good, hard-working people got laid off while I was there and I don't know why but suspect it was "culture fit" or politics

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We put a lot of effort into maintaining a positive and enjoyable culture within our work environment. Who doesn’t love a monthly happy hour?! However, we are disappointed to hear that you feel there were inefficiencies and lack of clarity within teams. We value your feedback on the need for clearer job descriptions and better training and over the past year we have developed over twelve new CBSi specific training classes to help with such needs. As we continue to grow at an incredibly fast rate, we also understand the need to streamline across various teams within the company to maintain structure and efficiency. We appreciate your feedback and will ensure to take all comments into consideration as we continually look to improve.

Pros

Salary and health insurance. There are no other pros with CBS Interactive.

Cons

No work culture at TV City location, no career growth, raises occur only because employees going union, managers have no experience with final cut, adobe premiere, media composer or various software and hardware tools needed for digital media needs of EST and VOD partners but will advise on file creation, manipulation, and transcoding. In many cases, employees are performing managerial work but not compensated properly. When you have constantly written to CBS Interactive HR about current managers and directors creating a hostile work environment, inappropriately touching male and female employees, purposefully holding back pertinent training and policies that impact employee work performed and daily schedules, managers having outbursts at work making employees cry in front of other employees. All deemed, "Appropriate and does not fall outside professional behavior," you really need to look elsewhere. As everyone is told when you exit, "We will investigate the issue." But when you are the 4th employee to exit due to horrendous working conditions, culture, management, and an HR group what will do all it can to make sure employees are constantly kept in the dark about their own career growth and potential, you know where you tend to stand in the whole scheme of the organization.

Thanks for the review, we appreciate your feedback regarding your time at CBSi. It is disappointing to hear that you felt there weren’t possibilities for career growth and promotion. It is also concerning to hear your note regarding your experiences with management and HR as this is in no way representative of the values and culture permeated from the CBSi executive team. We take your feedback seriously and would like to hear more. Please get in touch with our ombudsperson, via CBS OpenLine, where you can call or email to share your experience. The CBS OpenLine is at 1-877-CBS-0888 (1-212-975-9913) or CBSOnline@cbs.com.
