Pros

The company has flexible working hours and remote working options.

Cons

Worst management I have ever worked with. Skills and competencies take a back seat to the rumor mill and the popularity contests that is this company. Management learns of some rumors and without getting any facts at all strips aways responsibilities based on your social score. There could be no merit whatsoever to the rumors being spread about you and yet management will not address the concerns with the employee and will still manipulate the workload based off the merits which hold no truth. It is toxic. Management is allowed to single employees out and make backhanded comments toward employees they do not care for.

Pros

I've been at Paramount for nearly three years and so far it's been a great place to work. Paramount is a great name to put on your resume and I've truly received support with my career growth. Also, the benefits have been great! I've never had an issue with my health insurance, they provide unlimited PTO (which I've never had a problem getting approved and have used 3-4 weeks every year) and a 5% 401K match. Like most companies it's understaffed and employees are overworked, but that's to be expected almost anywhere. There are times where I'm working back to back 60-80 hour weeks, but there are also times where it's slower and I'm able to have a fairly light week. My team has been nothing but supportive for my career growth as well as personal growth. They've given me projects that have allowed me to expand my knowledge and learn from leaders on my team and throughout the Paramount legal department. While I initially started out in a more supporting role on projects, over time I became a leader and took full ownership of all projects I was assigned (whether from my team or sent directly from the client groups I serve). My team has also been incredibly accommodating for any personal time I need, usually allowing me to fully unplug (assuming I work with someone to cover my projects in advance of taking leave), whether that's for a vacation or medical/family emergency.

Cons

While there are a lot of upsides, there are several areas where I feel like the company could improve. I've seen several teams (e.g. creative, production, marketing, digital) that either haven't been properly trained on how to effectively work with legal, finance, etc. or choose to ignore the training they've received. They often either avoid working with those teams altogether or loop them in last minute for them to put an agreement together, pay out talent, crew, etc. and it creates significant issues for the company in terms of how we're viewed by talent and their representatives as well as for employee morale and overall satisfaction. I've also seen this result in significant money being wasted as we often are paying (or overpaying) for services and/or associated late fees that wouldn't be needed had those teams been looped in early on. There aren't many events for the west coast employees as it seems like most of the events are geared for the east coast offices, although occasionally we do have some decent events pop up. We don't receive the week between Christmas and New Years off, like many entertainment companies do.
