Well-known and well-respected company. Very large company with many life and career resources for employees.

Cons

In the last few years, the focus has shifted from being an innovative entertainment company to all about the bottom line. There's always a restructure of some sort happening.

Relaxed work environment, good xmas break (2 weeks paid), great location in SOMA, good set of technologies at use

Cons

Business has *really* slowed down in "new media" vertical, in general. Corporate overlords in NY demand a return for their 1.6B investment. New management at the top (president and his immediate staff). Horrible middle management (VPs/Sr. Dirs) who either have no domain knowledge or from old school. Layoffs are happening currently over there to bring profitability back, I hear.

Cons

seems to be an end of an era. programming is down the tubes. viacom's corporate grip suffocating creative. inappropriate, high school culture.
