Pros

Flexible working hours. Great health benefits. Bright office with fast, stable Internet connection. Superb culture: staff initiated, as well as company-sponsored events. Employees generally care about one another and their work. Work-life balance is good, generally, but managed team by team. The people make this company what it is.

Cons

Politics are rampant here, so much so, that it's chased great people out at all levels. As a media company living in the digital world, there should be a greater importance on technology through the ranks, especially at the top. Mostly slow moving execs.

Very relaxed, fun place to work, but they're quick to lay people off

Pros

Of all the places I've worked, MTV Networks has definitely one of the funnest environments. Despite its reputation for being cheap, the pay is decent. Depending on your job, the work-life balance is good.

Cons

They've been known to lay off entire departments even if they're doing well. VH1 Production is a good example of this.
