Pros

Large variety of work. High Profile Contracts. Company Culture is good on paper and well-outlined. Extensive and FREE on-line training programs for employees. Educational assistance program for professional development. In-house training facility. Pay is highly competitive when compared to other contract security companies. Solid benefits and perks available to staff.

Cons

Communication very poor between front-line staff and upper management, leaving employees on some contracts feeling isolated from the company. Pay is NOT competitive with non-security related industries, which can be a strain due to the inherent risks of the job. However, this is not indicative of the company and points to the industry as a whole. Positive change is a hot topic, but can feel delayed due to the large size of the company and all of the branches it has to travel through.

A steady pay cheque.

Pros

Relatively competitive pay. Lots of free time. Meet lots of interesting people. Work in new and exciting locations! On a personal level, every one who I came into regular contact with was very nice and friendly.

Cons

No drive to accomplish anything more than what is absolutely necessary. Lack of respect for anyone in a lower position. "Do as I say, not as I do" type of atmosphere. Unwilling to face any issues head on, but rather approach it with an "let someone else deal with it" attitude. Total disregard for employees personal information. Overall level of integrity maintained by management is juvenile at best .

Not only do we hold regularly scheduled site meetings, Site Supervisor meetings and management meetings, but we also conduct extensive employee surveys at least once a year through the ‘Paladin Report Card’ - which solicits advice and suggestions from our staff on how we can improve the delivery of our services - both internal services, such as administering our benefits plan, and external services, such as providing security to a site. We are a company that believes in constant and never-ending improvement and the motivation for change comes from both our clients and our people. This is the foundation upon which Paladin was built and one of the reasons why our company has grown so fast. Paladin Security also leads the security industry in reward, recognition and incentive programs for our people with branch Performer of the Month Awards, daily Field Manager's Choice Awards and weekly Client Service Manager Choice Awards to recognize and thank our people for doing such wonderful work. The people at the office and my direct supervisors have been very supportive. Never felt like I was just another name in the payroll. Everyone is treated with respect and fairness. We work as a team and as a part of a bigger community.

Cons

Never had any concerns working here. Very professional company.
