Pros

A fun place to be if you enjoy your sports and gambling (although you can't bet with the company) some really great customers who you get to know really well as they come into your shop most days can build some really strong relationships with them and sometimes feels like your not even in work when your having a laugh with customers and co workers. Good reward schemes if you have been with the company longer than a year. If shop meets targets you are entitled to a bonus. This is split between the shop team with the manager getting 50% the assistant manager 25% and the remainder being split equally between the other members of staff.

Cons

Seems to be very disorganized at times, the company is rapidly expanding with new shops opening regularly which is putting more pressure on the district managers therefore there is often a delay in issues being dealt with. Some shop members reluctant to accept responsibility for incidents that have taken place whilst they are acting as duty manager in the shop. Seems they would rather save their own skin and drop their co worker in it. Shops are pretty much left to run themselves so at times people take liberties For example leaving one staff member in the shop to go out during the busiest period, leaving the other staff member unable to cope. A lot of the rules and procedures placed in the shop are generally ignored, which sets a bad example to newer employees and can often result in members of staff being disciplined when the procedures are not followed.

Pros

You never had to feel afraid to speak about issues you have. Never had a single issue with getting paid. If customers gave you trouble, you could stand your ground. In house canteens and food available.

Cons

Work became repetitive at time. The hours werent a consistent 8 hours a day 5 days week, if you're looking for that, avoid the call centre aspect. Sports will lose their 'mystique' after working here for a while. All of your personal statistics were timed to the second.
