Pros

A lot to learn at once depending on project. Gives you good knowledge of construction industry

Cons

Poor field engineer management, too many chefs in the kitchen. Boys club type of company.

Pros

Decent compensation, bonus, stock options Great benefits package that includes a lifestyle and fitness account Morning stretches encourage health and safety Ability to move up in the company if you are willing to move

Cons

Overtime is expected and never paid regardless of labour laws. Generally full of older employees (mostly 40 year olds and older) and a lot of grandfathered employees who are educationally under qualified. Bonuses are not based on how much overtime you work. You could work a million overtime hours but never feel compensated for. Not enough transparency from management. The job itself is written as top notch, but in reality is quite simple that possibly only a high school diploma could suffice.

Pros

If you have tons of shares purchased, it must be fantastic getting those returns. Before the crash, they even cashed +100% returns *eye roll*

Cons

They don't actually train you in your job. Experience will be what trains you. Mistakes are treated as a spot to teach or seen as improvable. They're seen as marks to be used against you during negotiations. Your work is what deals with the overwhelmingly stupid projects PCL Denver breaks its back dealing with. There's not plan or strategy with more stock put into it than, "The field/office will deal with it." DON'T TAKE THIS JOB STRAIGHT OUT OF CSU OR CU. IT IS NOT FOR SOMEONE WHO IS NEW AT DENVER CONSTRUCTION. You'll see what I mean if you don't heed the advice...

We're sorry to hear you feel that way. The experience you describe is not in alignment with PCL standards.
