Pros

Great fit if you are passionate about international development, justice and equity. Allowances for part time work and job sharing. Oxfam makes an impact and is well known in development and relief circles

Cons

Many staff work long hours - -there is always more to do than there is time for. It is a huge organization that can be bureaucratic at times

Pros

- Great training opportunities - Great opportunity to run large projects - Amazing people - They believe in you - The Oxfam 'magic' - the culture feels worldly, kind and worthwhile - Reduced levels of process allows you to get on with things quickly

Cons

- Some politics at senior levels - Salaries are lower (as you'd expect) - Some pockets of people with a negative outlook who don't get the 'real mission'!
