Pros

Great Discount, It's a job, Nice coworkers, fun enviroment.

Cons

pushing ONC sales, favoritism, they short schedule you constantly into 3 hour shifts so you never see a 15 minute break, 3 hour shifts cost more than gas it takes to get there. Management pushes multiple tasks that contradict each other and have you scrambling to complete them and takes you off your scheduled tasks (saw coworker in fitting room receive 4 different jobs that took him out of the fitting room and he was running around trying to get his main task done, while juggling the other 4 jobs) Seen far too many people come and go from the store since starting less than a year, now I have almost the highest non-management seniority. Management overeacts to rumors that higher management might be coming in. Train cashiers to down right beg for ONC's to keep their hours.

Pros

Young energetic workforce great discount at all gap stores

Cons

holiday work policy high pressure sales goals for old navy cards firing policy for not meeting onc goals they don't really care about jenny the way you do I ask every old navy sales associate to tell old navy customers that if they don't get enough old navy card applications that they will be fired within six months of getting the job. That is Gap Inc's policy. I was given my verbal warning AFTER my 90 day mark...approaching the beginning of my fifth month. I was an old navy shopper that is why I chose to work there...it was a disappointment to learn that employees are treated this way. Employees who do get lots of old navy credit cards get more perks...sent home early, more leniency with breaks, more praise cards. Even if you give great customer service, recover quickly and neatly, really care about jenny and the store's ces marks and fullfill every other aspect of your job it does not matter...it only matters if you deliberately lie to people and misrepresent the nature of having an actual onc.....The ONC has a 24% interest rate what kind of incentive is 10% off at pos? Do not work here if you have ethics or morals...I thought Old Navy cared about it's employees and customers I was wrong...I am giving my notice on basis of this immoral activity.

Pros

Nice discount between the brands. Store is relatively fun. Good about making sure workers get their breaks.

Cons

ALWAYS stay late when closing. Get scheduled to 10 (close at 9) and stay until 11 or later - which is horrible if you have someone picking you up because even if you get a ball park for when you'll get out, they always end up sitting out in the parking lot for at least 20 minutes waiting. WAY too much pressure behind ONCs. Must ask everyone multiple times and keep spouting off benefits until the customer agrees to apply or gets angry and walks away. If you don't reach your ONC goals you get less hours. Most of the time customers "already have one" and don't need to apply or they "have bad credit" and won't bother applying. Both of which are out of your control. Have bad credit? Apply anyway! Who cares about the few points you lose from your credit score! Sure if you get approved you can make those points back, but if you're denied? Sucks to be you! Management wants you to be overly "excited to be working" when talking to the customers which makes employees come off as fake which can also rub customers the wrong way. Yet a lot of customers are rude if you jump on them before they've had time to browse.
