There can be a real “boys” culture and management feel like they can speak to staff however they want. The majority of the centralised management team are good decent people. The company needs to empty the trash from the regional offices where some of the tenured management feel like they’re untouchable.

Company fostered a culture of bullies and ridiculous business practices. I was not allowed to email anyone with a higher title (Sr Manager, Director, etc) than myself without including my micromanager of a boss. I couldn't talk directly to the Occ Health Nurses in the field. I couldn't foster change for the front line employees because of the bureaucratic nonsense. I never felt truly valued in my role. The annual reviews that I gave my team were overridden, resulting in each of them getting less than they deserved for a raise. The legacy employees seem to be happy there for the most part. But for someone coming in from the outside, it was super difficult to develop relationships and work toward strategic goals without being stopped every step of the way.
