Pros

- work life balance - employees are generally friendly, resourceful, and intelligent - interesting work - many easily accessible opportunities for professional/career growth (up to $10k/yr tuition reimbursement towards an advanced degree and/or certifications) - flexible 9/80 work schedule - inclusive environment for newbies/minorities (but you have to be a US citizen)

Cons

- lower pay than a non-defense-contractor job - rigid/slow promotion process - undesirable/disorganized work depending on position/sector/project - lots of red tape that can make work very inefficient and slow - no chance for remote work in certain positions
