Pros

Global company in an interesting sector of tech. Huge changes to be expected in future. Big difference on cell phone today and ten years ago - HUGE difference between a cell phone in 2008 and in a 'cell phone' in 2018. Company supports out of box thinking and you are generally empowered to do what it takes to get the job done. No red tape.

Cons

In rapid changes in company you are either on main stream of communication or almost blacked out. Processes supporting the business (HR, IT,...) are based on some unflexible template what are very different to main business related processes.

Pros

There is a wide variety of assignment opportunities for someone who works in a project or program environment. Working with people from all over the world provides opportunities to travel to countries a person might not be able to otherwise. The company encourages taking time outside of the office to enjoy a new location. The idea is that the more a person knows and understands a different culture the better they will work with their coworkers located in foreign countries. Because so many coworkers are located in different countries, working from home is allowed when necessary. Some managers also allow a flexible work schedule but this varies from manager to manager. Although the benefits are somewhat average, the seem to be better than what friends have who work at similarly sized companies. Today there is more acceptance of non-Finnish employees than in the past and management is much more diverse than it used to be.

Cons

The project methodology is very structured and there is sometimes more emphasis placed on having a form completed versus the its actual content. Because so many teams are globally distributed, it is impossible to have any sort of close working relationship with coworkers. Stopping by someone's desk or running into a team mate in the breakroom just doesn't happen. Conversations must be scheduled a day or two in advance because of the time differences which sometimes is a barrier to quick decision making. Because many managers are in different facilities, and often different countries, they don't have visibility to an employee's daily accomplishments.
