Pros

Promise you will make a ton of money, commission, paid training for 2 tests, promise of series 6 and 7

Cons

Everything they say is a lie!!! They tell you you get a base nope you get commission only. They say you will get paid $1200 nope that’s a lie when you do get paid it’s less then $200 after months with no pay. They charge you for all their services in their offices, even using their computers Agents that go out with you steal your commission and clients. They also push you to even sell insurance at funerals. They have you take a series 6 and really you get an insurance producer license not a series 6. Terrible company

Our agents are compensated for the work through commissions. Being commission based puts you in control of how much you make, which can be both exciting and challenging. In addition, we offer competitive benefits, as well as a defined benefit pension plan that makes our compensation package one of the best in the industry. During the hiring process, we are sure to provide specific detail on how our commission based structure works.

Pros

Company's culture. But it is gone.

Cons

The company is outsourcing IT and Finance. CVPs seek to play reorganizing games to keep their positions. After announcing the group elimination with a departure date, CVPs decided to hire multiple entry level or even college students to replace Senior Associates. What is worse, they even want to force current employees to leave without the package. This is unfair and ruthless.

Thanks for sharing your feedback - we appreciate it. At New York Life we are always working to meet the needs of our clients and maintain our leadership position in the industry. For example, we're investing in new infrastructure and process improvements and, when it makes sense, partnering with select companies to provide certain capabilities to us. Where this had an impact on our people, we take great care to provide benefits that include severance payments, outplacement services, and subsidies to defray the cost of health insurance premiums.

Pros

Great training, people and materials to use for sales!

Cons

You pay for everything you use and unless you have dozens and dozens of people lined up who are ready to pay monthly premiums, this role is will leave you starving. And keep in mind, all you need is one bad quarter and you're out! My suggestion, save your money and energy and find a real paying job! Insurance is going the route of banking - all online and totally detached.
