Pros

Flexible schedule, self-management, support from partners, amazing educational opportunities, income that is earned but also no limit, room and support for growth, and tools available for unlimited opportunities.

Cons

With the pros there are the exact opposite in that New York Life does not give you any where to start regarding creating a book of business, there is little help with leads and there are huge expectations that you can create an income from a job that is based on commissions only while you are in school and trying to create you own business.

Good company overall, but not good for growth

Pros

Pay salary is better than avg. Company is financially solid, very stable. Vacation time is good (plus one week summer time off) + many other good benefits such pension and 401K matching, employee breakfast. Good work/life balance. Provide a good training opportunity. Promote knowlesge sharing on weekly team meeting.

Cons

Too much process controling and politics between groups and managments. Acronisym and protestism everywhere, hard to work efficiently - it slow down process. Micromanagment on certain manager - check tasks daily by documenting what you do each hour - over killed on controlling.

Long hours and no base pay. The training and the licensing could be difficult at times.
