Pros

"Work Hard, Play Hard" culture is great. Interns are assigned projects that are actually important & valuable to the company, not busy work. Living in Austin has been great; lots of amazing opportunities to get out and have some fun. NI was also very good with communicating the changes being made to the intern program due to the economy.

Cons

Compensation is somewhat less than other opportunities, but the fact that I'm actually busy with a project that I enjoy makes up for it.

Still a Good Place to Work

Pros

Easy: No layoffs. There's good communication from the top. It's better than one would expect and on a consistent basis, even if it's just all bad news.

Cons

Middle management is pretty worthless.
