      This place has started lighting money on fire

      Pros

      Most colleagues are good, but nobody has seen each other since 2020.

      Cons

      New management has consistently driven this company into the ground. It can't sell elearning in a world where everyone is transitioned to working from home. New upper management has shifted to a focus on micromanaging and metrics, which has incentivized everyone not to go above and beyond, to work slowly to show utilization, and to avoid the innovation and risk taking that once delivered value to clients. The company would be better off cleaning house in upper management and starting over.

      Pros

      I'm honestly struggling to say something beyond "It's a job. They pay you money, usually." I worked there for a long time and did not get fired, despite a few choice places I could have been. I assume this is because letting me stay on was probably easier than trying to trick somebody new into taking the job.

      Cons

      It's, truly, and awful and dehumanizing place to work. If you try to get a job in the field after leaving here, having worked here looks bad on your resume. It has come up numerous times. Ask yourself the following questions, if your answer is "no," you probably wouldn't consider it a negative. If yes, then these are things you should never expect: Do you like being treated with respect? Do you like maintaining your dignity? Do you enjoy lying to clients? Do you enjoy lying to people on behalf of other people? Do you enjoy being, constantly, lied to? Do you enjoy a cowardly managerial staff? Do you enjoy not receiving any agreeable compensation (whether financial or just nice accolades?) Did you really like high school and wish you were still in the cliquish environment of high school? Do you enjoy being thrown under a bus?

      * You get some experience (not necessarily in the job you were hired for, but in some job that may be kinda related to it) * You get a paycheque (unless they mess up the system, which happens once every three months) * You get the privilege of working insane hours of overtime without getting paid for them * You get to experience ancient slavery and third-world exploitation without having to timetravel for them

      Cons

      Cruelty and ignorance dance hand in hand in this place. Management openly takes pride in making decisions without having any understanding of the work that production employees content developers instructional designers etc. are doing. Working 10-20 hours of unpaid overtime/week in non-management positions is minimum requirement; if you complain they tell you you should be happy to have a job at all. Guidelines and requirements and templates change every day of every month of every year. Turnover at this wretched place averages 50%/year in Canada across all levels and jobs. Management has regular screaming matches over employees heads in Hindi (so they wouldn't understand) and have nervous breakdowns in front of entire office (3 in a year). Labor regulations are routinely violated. This place makes ancient slave galley ships look like luxury resorts. Don't walk, RUN. Away from them.
