Pros

Weekly pay was a great perk. Next also has the SAM calender allowing you to pick up extra shifts and drop ones you don't want however this is extremely rarely working and extra shifts are never added. Dropping a shift also only works if it isnt your contracted shift. Perks like digital GP are great though

Cons

Horrible managers. The manager of the store I worked at is nothing short of a bully. Managers will dump an unrealistic workload on you and shout at you like we're in primary school when its not done. I was never trained (beyond 15 minutes worth of videos) and therefore had to figure out things on my own which would result in me getting shouted at by managers for not doing things correctly. Customers are horrible and managers are unwilling to help, They just hide away in their offices all day. There is little chance to take a day off unpaid meaning I was only allowed to take a day off if i used my (extremely limited) holiday. I've had to miss out on Uni applicant days and key family events because of this. One time I was approved to take a day off after weeks of stress because once again- The managers refuse to communicate with you. Management do not listen to your avaliability and will schedule you whenever they see fit and refuse to help you or move the shift. The pay is also utterly abismal considering how horrible working there is. Obvious favouritism amongst staff members. Managers have their own cliques and will torment you if not part of it. Myself and the only other colleague i was close with have both been made to cry by other employees. I've also walked into the breakroom before and seen a colleague bawling because of how she was treated by a manager. Our manager loves to get up in your face like a wrester squaring up to you
