Pros

Legacy as one of the great media companies of all time, but no more.

Cons

You know you're in trouble when the single largest division of the company is ad sales. Not content. Ad sales. Once mighty and envied, NBCU took too long to get into the streaming business and then put a group of people who had no idea what they were doing in charge of it. And in the process, new CEO Jeff Shell and his bean counters decimated the corporate culture by shredding countless divisions in the name of shoring up the disaster that is now Peacock.

Pros

There were some good co-workers that made the day more enjoyable.

Cons

This is the most uncomfortable job I've ever had. The people are rude and have no problem stepping on other people to move up. After reading some of these reviews for this company I am surprised by all the positive postings. Some people are down right mean, selfish, self-centered and manipulative. For a company that touted its highly praised zero-tolerance workplace, this environment is littered with inappropriate behaviors. I am shocked that some of the management is still employed. A manager calling in sick multiple times a week and giving a new excuse for each absence. Constantly and compulsively lying to his employees. Cursing all the time in staff meetings and on the main floor. Allowing some of the employees to watch netflix, come in late, take multiple extended breaks and leave early for the day without any sort of consequence. But has no problem coming down hard on the employees that do work hard. A manager that expressed immature jealousy towards his own employees for their successes in the company and successes in their own personal lives. Wrote favorable reviews to protect his co-worker friends from losing their jobs. Excessively used company benefits such as corporate cards for unnecessary purchases. Protects lazy employees while driving good workers to the ground. And falsely reported numbers to his superiors to protect his incompetence.

Pros

NBCUniversal broadcasts moments that shape our culture: whether its the Olympics, Golden Globes or the Election, working at NBCU means working on culture-defining projects - which is very cool

Cons

every team has its own sub-culture which means that there's no consistency on what's expected of each level and who gets rewarded. depending on who your executive leader is, you will be appreciated for a job well done or made to feel that whatever you do isn't good enough. Some teams have an always on culture where you're called out for being slow to respond to emails on weekends or summoned back to work during paid parental leave (which is only 2 weeks).
