Pros

Apart from IT the rest of the departments are good to work for

Cons

IT is a sham, slow, unresponsive and very cynical. People are not promoted for their skill and initiative and delivery capabilities. People have risen to the level of incompetence - at least they aren't doing the work which would mean certain meltdown. bordering on corrupt. Promotion is merited on being friends with the VPs If you like football and rugby you'll get on with leadership None of the VPs in tech have any qualifications in IT or anything else. If you want to feel like you are working in fiefdom and dictatorship and have a need to know what 70s style management is then join this team. Otherwise stay well clear!!!

Pros

- Tremendous facilities - Good matching 401k option - Interesting and fulfilling work -Most employees seem to enjoy what they do. -Fun atmosphere, at any given time people could be tossing a football across the studio or be entrenched in an intense game of ping-pong. -The best of the best work here. Everyone is very good at their job. -Entry-level PAs are paid hourly meaning during the particularly busy parts of the year you get those OT hours. -Promotion from within is commonplace and NBCU is such a massive company that movement is very possible.

Cons

-Pay is OK by industry standards but still not anything great. -Hours are outlandish. Expect nights and weekends. -Hourly employees DO NOT get paid time off. No sick days, no vacation days. This is my main gripe.

Pros

I love my co-workers, whether they are on my team or other teams within the overarching NBC organization, they are all great people. You will be challenged on a daily basis

Cons

Management is terrible, micro-manage, condescending and no respect for their team members Very political in nature, if you don't know how to play the game, you will go no where in this organization-work ethic and value of your work will not matter Pay is less than desirable and time off is limited-10 days Communication between departments is awful and at times non existent which makes it harder to get things done
