Pros

NBC was a great place because your work was so widely viewed. You knew exactly what the end result was because of the sucess of the TV show. It was very rewarding to see your work 3 or 4 months later all over the place. Depending on your group, you can have alot of freedom to make decisions.

Cons

It is a large company that does so much. This makes it hard to stand out. Your growth potential may be limited depending on where in the company you are working. Although you may be able to do whatever you want, the size of the company dwarfs your personal project.

Pros

The name is really important; it's reputable and prominent. NBC Universal is known throughout the world, so this name will increase the number of people who look at your resume. As an assistant, my two supervisors have given me more responsibility due to my ability to grasp new concepts easily. This is great because it allows me to sharpen old skills and gain new ones. More responsibility also means potential to grow within the company, and the recommendations will come in handy. Lastly, it's a great place to work because the lot is always lively. You may catch a "Desperate Housewife" driving or see Tom Cruise in your elevator! :)

Cons

I am a contract employee, so it's hard to have an "in" when you're just a contract employee.
