Pros

Phenomenal access to senior management allows employees of all levels to have exposure across the company. GE culture of promoting upward and lateral movement within the company encourages employees to grow in their role and always seek new and innovative opportunities in the organization.

Cons

When ratings are down, money is down across the company. Internal politics can make new products and projects slow-going. Traditional media still gets the lion-share of money and attention, which makes sense but also makes innovation difficult. GE hurdle rates are not always best-suited for media-related projects.

Pros

The company is, for the most part, made up of great people who are driven to provide great quality content and products for our consumers. There are many opportunities to innovate in the industry and NBC Universal is not afraid to take risks and push the envelope on content and product development.

Cons

As with any large company, sometimes it can be a slow and difficult to affect widespread change. In the media industry this can be an issue in keeping up with competitors in the digital space as well as some of the smaller, more vertical palyers on the broadcast side.
