Pros

It's media ... where else can you say Jimmy Fallon in the elevator and Brian Williams at lunch? Definitely an interesting area, with a lot of room to learn and make a difference.

Cons

I feel that the HR and management here is by far the worst I've ever seen. There's many days that I just want to leave the company due to their incompetence, and am usually in a frustrated state with any of my dealings with them. It seems like a generally uncontrolled chaos that magically comes up with decisions that impact the rest of the organization.

Pros

"Sexy" industry, decent work life balance(can depend on role and division, but for most part, tolerable), most superiors genuinely care about your development, teams willing to share credit and tout the good work of others, fantastic/generous company benefits, great entry-level training programs

Cons

Not always great communication between and within divisions, corporate environment can limit creativity, cross-functional roles not always encouraged, perks not widespread (concentrated within certain divisons, employees, or groups), training not as touted/widespread-requires being proactive, not very flexible on movements within parent company (General Electric)

Pros

The theme park is free.

Cons

I worked in IT, so I'm sure entertainment is different, but IT at NBC was the most boring, not progressive, depressing experience I have ever experienced in my life. This company was heavily trying to leverage outsourcing which might work in some situations, but not for everything, and employees are their to manage the contractors. Everyone there seemed miserable. The office was the most depressing office...something straight out of a government office from the 70's. No Office Space fun here. And the complete opposite of a progressive, exciting startup company.
