Pros

The culture at NASA is very good. It's easy to find people to help you figure out potential career paths. The leadership seems genuinely interested in keeping the employees happy and gainfully employed.

Cons

Pay is not great when compared to the private sector. Like many government agencies, there is some bureaucracy that stands in the way of progress.

Pros

Ability to work from home and onsite Generous sick and annual leave Some managers are good and many people are fantastic to work with

Cons

Employee happiness completely dependent on whether their direct manager is toxic. No way to raise issues if they are awful. Diversity in gender and race have not improved in the past decade because all efforts are all talk and no tangible action. Employees went from stressed out to now concerned about burnout on the annual survey and the issues are shrugged off Resources to get work done are ignored if requested, and employees become a “problem” when they speak up The toxic culture outweighs the cool mission unfortunately.
