Pros

Support is there. I had biweekly meetings with my CCS and it was very helpful to have that support and opportunity to review my caseload. There is also a lot of opportunities to engage with co-workers when you are in the office and learn from each other. Lots of training. There is so much training and it was all really helpful in making me feel confident in my role. Flexibility and control of your schedule (kind of). If you need to work from home you can. You set your schedule, but that is above all based on your clients, not you. Not stuck at a desk. This is both a pro and a con, but I enjoyed walking a lot and not staring at the same 4 walls every day. Fulfilling work.

Cons

Scattered clients make for inefficient use of time. By having CC's serve clients in 4 boroughs as opposed to 1-2 makes for half of the day spent commuting. This means the MTA ends up being your office where you are expected to complete detailed documentation. Most CCs and CCNs I spoke to admitted they take work home with them past 5 PM. Vacation doesn't feel like a vacation. This is because your monthly quotas do not change because you have one less week of work that month. PAY! The pay is not proportional to the work that is expected of CCs and CCN's. Your paycheck says very clearly, you are not valued by society.

Pros

camaraderie amongst care coordinators in hating management and supervisors care coordinators are passionate about the work convenient office locations

Cons

-supervisors/management micromanages and talks down to staff -unrealistic expectations/enormous workload/expect you to work off the clock to meet metrics/unpaid work/no overtime -upper management is very white despite workforce being mostly PoC -anyone can advance to a supervisor position, but this leads to horrible supervisors because they don't have adequate people skills/training in leading teams -no yearly raises -horrible pay -HR hates NADAP lol -extremely high turnover rate -supervisors threaten you with termination if you do not meet their impossible metrics -extremely low employee morale -very little support in doing the actual work -"perks" of jobs have to be earned and are not given to you despite HR marketing the perks -Brooklyn office is small, cramped, and dark -NADAP expects you to travel anywhere with just MTA (I've been sent to basically Westchester and was demanded I be there at 9am, meaning I'd have to wake up at 6am to leave my house by 7am to make the 2 hour train ride to the Bronx) -Management/supervisors have made loaded comments/statements that have racist undertones such as making comments on acrylic nails and sneakers -Management/supervisors play "good cop, bad cop" roles. -Email is consistently down -very little recognition in good work
