Pros

Helps you gain plenty of work experience. Also helps you gain a better understanding of products sold in store. Also different people you meet along the way.

Cons

Management is as worst as they come. They value profit over workers. They literally tell employees "We need to maximize profits, but created a small payroll." Which they hire as little people as possible, to avoid paying alot in wages. You can an will be fired for the smallest of infractions, even if you've been on the job for months. Store discount is a complete joke.. You only get 20% off items that ARE NOT on sale. Most of items in Modells, outside of most Nike an Under Armor items, are on sale... Anything on sale, you only get 10% off... Modells is like a revolving door. You will constantly see people getting fired left an right. Which in turn brings down the morale of the store, with people wondering if they are next. Modells also has very poor inventory. Popular items are either never found in certain stores or limited online. They also would overstock in items no one generally buys, which creates a headache for stockroom workers. Not all modells carry the same items. One store could carry one brand of sneakers, but any other modells possibly wouldnt have it at all. An the pay.... Modells pays minimum wage, period. During a meeting, the district manager once said, "if you guys help us reduce our shrink numbers (theft), we can afford to pay you guys more." That was a flat out lie since, the year prior(2013 to the next (2014) shrink numbers went down, an still no pay raise outside of minimum wage. No employee can be giving more than 30hours in a work week. You would have to be there for at least a year, hope to get lucky if you want more than 30. They do however offer overtime, but only at select times.
