Cons
Boring! Most of the day is devoted to "No Task Time" in which you have to stand around and not do anything in your empty store. Store management should go through a much stricter screening process. There is very obvious favoritism, especially if you are a female. Upper management seemed out of touch and stubborn while remaining unreachable by the average employee. Employed for two years and only made $0.30 in raises. Hard to get recognized for hard work. Most employees take advantage of laid back environment. Terribly strict about absurd rules while being lax on others. Managers used to curse on the floor while in the same breath correcting you for your shirt tail coming loose. Disorganized. The stock is completely ridiculous, having excess items that do not sell while struggling to get in items that do. Plus, the aisles themselves didn't always have any rhyme or reason. The apparel section changed weekly, making knowledge of the store impossible. High turn-over rate to the point that I stopped learning people's names until they lasted long enough to join the union. Nothing that they really could have helped other than hiring better people. Sporadic scheduling. Depending on time of year, availability, and (seemingly) most of all how the scheduling manager felt about you that week. You can have 30 hours one week and 5 the next. Out-dated store in all respects (policies, security, logistics). The building itself was outdated and needed to desperately be remodeled and updated!
