Pros

Great people, beautiful office space, and free food.

Cons

The firm's compensation package for professional staff is $15-30k below the market rate. Professional staff are often treated as less valuable compared to others. A hostile and toxic culture is prevalent across nearly all departments.

Professional Services get the short end of the stick

Pros

Nice office, perks such as lunch stipends and free breakfasts, friendly professional services staff, potential for resources to be made available to you (i.e. they won't skimp on software you need to do your job)

Cons

Incompetent middle managers across multiple departments, getting treated as less-than by the lawyers—meaning that you can be treated like dirt and then are expected to serve them back with a smile and ultra positive attitude. Management also loved to pitch paid overtime as a "benefit" to the job and would expect overtime regularly. They also track your attendance in the office by recording badge swipes, something that left me feeling like I was somehow untrustworthy. Career growth was extremely limited as there aren't more levels than specialist and senior specialist before transitioning into management roles in professional services. While I was there, I saw several people leave for a new job or quit to get away from this place. The culture is messed up. Mintz preaches fairness, equity, and inclusion but definitely doesn't apply those principles to the professional services staff.

Discriminatory Practices

Pros

Exposure to complex litigation and top attorneys

Cons

Racism. Favoritism. Minimal raises, you can work 10 years and because of the color of your skin, will not get promoted.
