In the bubble, a great place to work!

During the bubble years, MSTR was great at giving responsibility to young people and supporting them as they figured things out. Education and training were exceptions - a 6 week technical bootcamp - that I was allowed to take as a Marketing Manager! Morale during the bubble was also great.

Cons

After the restatement and the techn bubble crash, senior management hunkered down and forgot to communicate with employees. The mission got muddled and to company lost its way for a while. Luckily, thoughout, there has been an extreme focus on ensuring the quality of the technology.

Very team oriented work environment. You can learn a lot from other people. Provides self discovery for college graduates

Cons

Frequent changes in priorities. Should be comfortable executing in short time - unfortunately quality suffers (typical urgency in software business)

Pros

You are in the company of smart people doing interesting work. You will get better as a professional. There is a lot of scope for changing within the company to work for the department you really like to be in. The company takes good care of rewarding the really top people. The poor performers generally get the idea and leave. It is a young crowd and a fun place to work with a college-like atmosphere. The management is also a pretty cool lot. Fairfax is a very nice place to live as well.

Cons

Salary is OK, not that great. Working on a customer facing role can get very stressful after a while.
